Pork Chop Hill is a 1959 war drama directed by Lewis Milestone based on a true story. Though the Korean War is nearly over, Lieutenant Joe Clemens (Gregory Peck) is ordered to recapture a hill in the Korean War. Private Forstman (Harry Guardino), Lt. Walter Russel (Rip Torn), and the rest of the soldiers are reluctant to do battle on the hill knowing the end could be near, but the 135 men unit head out. While the military is locked in negotiates to end the bloody war, the soldiers of Clemens' unit are faced with a lack of reinforcements and supplies as they join the Chinese in a brutally bloody battle to try to win back the territory, believing that if they take back the hill the war will be over. With a major loss of life and devastating results, Clemens and his men battle on until a small string of reinforcements arrive and are shocked at what they find.
