Portrait of Leonardo is an unauthorized biography of American actor Leonardo DiCaprio, released in 1999. Leonardo DiCaprio rose from very modest beginnings as a supporting actor in television roles to become one of the best known film stars in the world. His appearance as Jack Dawson in James Cameron's 1997 monster smash hit movie "Titanic" catapulted him to international stardom. Portrait of Leonardo is a two-part series, with part one, The Kid Who Took Hollywood, utilizing archival film clips and still photos of the Hollywood star to relate his story. Part One features interviews with DiCaprio taken from press junkets for "Titanic" and "Romeo + Juliet." Interviews with his "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" co-star Johnny Depp and Claire Danes, who played Juliet to his Romeo, shed light on the respect given DiCaprio by his peers. Part Two, In His Own Words, is a compilation of press junket interviews with DiCaprio, and revealing interviews with co-stars Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone and director James Cameron.moreless
