Postmortem is a 1998 thriller film directed by Albert Pyun and released by Imperial Entertainment. James McGregor (Charlie Sheen) is an alcoholic psychologist who specializes in profiling serial killers. Desperate to forget his painful past and leave his profiling days behind him, he relocates to a quaint town and becomes a novelist. However, McGregor soon begins receiving mysterious letters in the mail, each of which contains obituaries of recently murdered people. When he is charged with one of the murders, the would-be novelist realizes that he can no longer escape his past. When the police realize who he is, they beg McGregor to lend them his expertise in this mystifying case. Now, he must use all of his knowledge to profile the killer and help the police capture him before he kills again. Postmortem is a gritty, taut film that gives viewers a chilling glimpse into the emotions and psyche of a merciless serial killer. This is a thoughtful, intellectual film that will be appreciated by fans of cerebral thrillers.moreless
