Prairie Badmen is a 1946 western directed by Sam Newfield. Doc Latimer (Edward Cassidy), the owner of a medicine show, travels into a new town with Linda (Patricia Knox), Linda's brother Don (John L. Buster), and Fuzzy Q. Jones (Al St. John). Outlaws Cal (Charles King), Lon (Kermit Maynard) and Steve (John L. Cason) play a trick on them shortly after they arrive, but cowboy Billy Carson (Buster Crabbe) comes to their rescue. Soon, Doc learns that the outlaws are after a treasure map that he has in his possession. Criminal Bill Thompson (Frank Ellis) gave him the map before he died, and it leads to bars of gold stolen from a government office. When Linda convinces Doc to turn the money over to the authorities, greedy Don decides to steal the map and go after the treasure. Meanwhile, the other outlaws and Doc's gang try to get to the treasure first.
