Prairie Outlaws features Eddie Dean (as himself) in a western film about a telegraph company trying to reach a small isolated town. When Dean gets hired to help the company connect with the town, his efforts are put off by local crime lord Drake Dawson (Terry Frost). Fearing the connection to the rest of the world will hinder his ability to continue in his criminal ways, Dawson will stop at nothing to stop Dean from succeeding. Soon discovered by Dean and his followers, Dawson and his villains have started killing local buffalo hoping to cause the nearby Indians to start an uprising in the town. Not only do the criminals want to bring down the telegraph company, they also want to make sure the railroad won't run through their crime headquarters either. It falls on the hero of this story to defeat Drake Dawson, his evil bandits, and bring peace to this small town. Released in 1948 and directed by Robert Emmett Tansey, this is truly a western classic.moreless
