Pray for Death is a dramatic action film directed by Gordon Hessler that centers on Akira Saito (Sho Kosugi), a quiet and relatively submissive Japanese businessman, as his family deals with the consequences of the dangerous streets of Houston, Texas when they move from Tokyo to embrace his wife's Japanese-American heritage. Akira had been wary and concerned even before the move but when their new restaurant becomes the focal point of all the local criminals, including dirty police officers and a gang leader called Limehouse (James Booth), the gentle Akira might have to embrace his violent past as a Ninja master to keep his family from being kidnapped and possibly killed. Filled with awesome fight scenes – ever wonder what would happen when there's a buzzsaw versus chainsaw fight? – and classic ninja moments, Pray for Death might make you want to brush off the ol' nunchucks.
