Movie Summary

Director:
Noel Black
Released:
1968
Rating:
R

Pretty Poison was director Noel Black's feature film debut, and was to be his only major success in the cinema. It follows Dennis Pitt, a deeply disturbed, but also highly plausible, young man on parole from a mental hospital. When he meets a young cheerleader named Sue Ann, he is immediately attracted and when he tells her a ridiculous story to the effect that he is a secret agent on a dangerous spy-hunting mission, she responds. He offers to bring her along on his "dangerous adventures", and when one of these ends in murder, she doesn't bat an eye - she just says that they should escape to Mexico together, as long as they first deal with her annoying mother. After she shoots Mother dead, Dennis realises that his new girlfriend is more psychotic than he is, but will anyone believe him?
