Pride of the Bluegrass Bluegrass is is a movie to watch on any night of the week. The main character of the movie is a horse, Gypsy Prince. Gypsy Prince is owned by the lovely Linda Mason (Vera Miles), an equestrian herself but not able to train this massive horse. So she hires Jim Nolan (Lloyd Bridges) to get the hose into shape, ready for racing in the Kentucky Derby. Unfortunately, as the horse is ready to prove himself, tragedy strikes. In the middle of the race the horse takes a tumble, breaking his leg, and getting the jockey expelled from racing. As is normal in the racing world, the horse is set to be put down, but owner Linda decides to take her chances and tries to nurse the horse to health. As the horse recovers, eventually they realize that the horse has a disability which caused the fatal fall. From there the story shows how the great people of the mid-west and their horses can do anything they want, when they set their mind to it.moreless
