Priest is a drama film that centers on the issues a priest faces with his parishioners and his own personal identity. Father Greg Pilkington (Linus Roache) has just begun working at a parish in Liverpool, England when a girl named Lisa Unsworth (Christine Tremarco) confesses that she has been sexually abused by her father, who admits to the crime. Father Pilkington is not able to tell anyone what Lisa and her father have admitted to him, but he does warn Lisa's mother, Mrs. Unsworth (Lesley Sharp) to keep an eye on her daughter. When Mrs. Unsworth discovers her husband's heinous crime, she lashes out at Father Pilkington for not saying anything. Meanwhile, Father Pilkington is struggling with his sexual identity when he meets a gay man, Graham (Robert Carlyle), at a bar. The two begin a relationship and when Father Pilkington is caught in a compromising position with Graham, his life is turned upside down.
