The Prince and the Surfer is a 1999 feature film directed by Arye Gross and Gregory Gieras. The movie is an adaptation of Mark Twain's novel the Prince and the Pauper. Instead of a pauper, however, there is a California surfer dude named Cash Canty (Sean Kellman). The prince is Prince Edward of Gelfland (Sean Kellman). The surfer and the prince trade places during a trip to California, where the prince's mother, Queen Albertina of Gelfland (Jennifer O'Neill) is herself on a trade mission, albeit of a more conventional kind. Unfortunately, the trade treaty mission is under attack by the corrupt minister Kratski of Gelfland (Robert Englund). He is attempting to sabotage the trade agreements and turn Gelfland into Golfland. Meanwhile, Cash tries to make friends with Princess Galina (Katie Johnston) and Prince Edward becomes interested in Cash's friend, Melissa (Linda Cardellini). Some seriousness is going to be necessary for the pair to keep Minister Kratski from ruining Gelfland. Are Cash and Prince Edward up to the task?moreless
