Prince of Darkness is the 1987 apocalyptic horror thriller from Universal, Alive Films and legendary horror filmmaker John Carpenter (The Thing, Halloween, Escape from New York, In the Mouth of Madness). A priest dies, spilling information about a sinister secret hidden in the bowels of a dilapidated church in downtown Los Angeles. Courier of the news is a priest (Donald Pleasance, Raw Meat, Halloween) who is friends with Professor Birack (Victor Wong, Big Trouble in Little China, Tremors) who teaches a class on quantum physics. Birack assembles a team of students to converge on the church and figure out what the mysterious liquid is churning in a strange container in the church basement. The students determine that the liquid is the remains of Satan which had been sealed eons ago to protect the world. People have been brought to the church to provide a vessel for Satan's rebirth and the forces of darkness will do whatever they must to ensure the arrival of the Anti-God.moreless
