Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is an adventure drama based on the popular video game. Young Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) has been raised as part of the family of King Sharaman of Persia (Ronald Pickup). Though born on the streets, he has proven himself as a warrior and respected member of the royal court, alongside the Princes Garsiv (Toby Kebbell) and Tus (Richard Coyle). The King's brother, Nizam (Ben Kingsley), demands an invasion of the sacred city of Alamut with the proof of their supplying Persia's enemies with weapons. Dastan follows orders and there meets Tamina (Gemma Arterton), a beautiful princess who knows the real motives behind the political conflict. Daston returns home and the King soon dies mysteriously. After Daston is accused of Sharaman's murder, he flees the palace and asks for help from Tamina. He must find a mystical dagger forged from the sands of time in order to stop further bloodshed.
