Private Property, also known as Nue propri''t'', is a 2006 French family drama. It has been ten years since Pascale (Isabelle Huppert) and Luc (Patrick Descamps) divorced. Although her grown twin sons, Thierry (J''r''mie Renier) and Fran''ois (Yannick Renier), are now 20, they remain at home, seemingly uninterested in beginning life on their own. Luc has paid for the country home and a generous household budget as long as the two sons want to live there. But Pascale has fallen in love with Jan (Kris Cuppens), and wants to sell the family home to begin a new life. Jan, a cook, dreams of opening a restaurant and inn with her. Her sons are not happy with the plan and make it impossible for her to sell the house, as they believe the money and house should be theirs. Pascale decides to move in with her friend Gerda (Sabine Riche), and find a different route to her future. Meanwhile, tension grows between the two brothers. Without Pascale's presence, old resentments and sibling rivalry flare up into an unexpected tragedy.
