Protector is a gripping action thriller by critically acclaimed, foreign director Prachya Pinkaew. The film follows Kham (Tony Jaa), a highly skilled fighter who travels to Sydney, Australia to reclaim a stolen elephant that he once considered part of his family. Unfortunately, several groups challenge Kham and attempt to keep him from his elephant. It is later revealed that the elephant has a baby, and that the animals are being kept behind a wall of various mobster gangs. In need of help, Kham hires Inspector Mark (Petchtai Wongkamlao) to help guide him through the cut-throat Australian underworld. Much of the film centers around Kham's interactions with a mysterious woman named Madame Rose (Xing Jing), the leader of a violent gang protected by her two bodyguards. By the end of the film, Pinkaew manages to keep the viewer at the edge of their seat as he leads Kham through his heartfelt, elephant-saving journey.
