Psychic Killer is a psychological thriller about vengeance using the powers of the mind. Arnold Masters (Jim Hutton) is wrongly convicted for the murder of a doctor and is committed to a state institution for the criminally insane. While incarcerated, Arnold's mother (Diane Deininger) dies of cancer, leaving him tormented by guilt and anger. Another mental patient, Emilio (Stack Pierce), is a voodoo guru who befriends Arnold, giving him a magic amulet and teaching him to tap into his latent psychic abilities. However, Arnold's psychic spirit is malevolent and ready for revenge. When the real killer confesses, Arnold returns to his old home, now free to use his new powers against everybody who wronged him and his mother. The growing death count so baffles Lt. Morgan (Paul Burke) and Lt. Anderson (Aldo Ray) that they call on a psychiatrist (Julie Adams) and a paranormal researcher (Nehemiah Persoff) to solve this new kind of crime.
