Pufnstuf tells the story of Jimmy (Jack Wild) who, after a bad day at school, decides to go to the beach to be by himself and play his flute. After playing his flute for a while, Jimmy sets it down, only to find that it has come to life as Freddy; a talking, solid gold, diamond encrusted flute. After a magical talking boat appears, Jimmy decides to board it and gets transported to Living Island. On Living Island, Jimmy finds many new friends, but he also meets the evil Witch Wilhemina W. Witchiepoo (Billie Hayes). The evil Witchiepoo goes after Jimmy to obtain Freddy the flute, which she is sure will impress the witches council and win her the witch of the year award at an upcoming witches convention. Under the protection of their new friends, including the mayor of Living Island, the magical dragon H.R. Pufnstuf (Roberto Gamonet), Jimmy and Freddy try to get off the island, only to learn that the evil Witchiepoo is also planning to serve spit-roasted dragon at the convention! With the help of the magical beings of Living Island, Jimmy and Freddy must face Witchiepoo and stop her evil plans.moreless
