Punch-Drunk Love is a romantic comedy/drama that was released in 2002. It was directed and written by Paul Thomas Anderson. Barry Egan (Adam Sandler) is a small business owner and the unfortunate only son in a family of seven daughters. Their manipulations and treatment of Barry have made him unable to find and keep a real relationship, and have caused him to suffer from fits of rage from time to time. Then one day, he sees a bizarre car accident, finds a harmonium (an instrument similar to an organ) on the street, and meets Lena Leonard (Emil Watson), a woman his sister Elizabeth (Mary Lynn Rajskub) works with. He's attracted to Lena and wants to find a way to have a relationship with her, but when he calls a phone sex hotline to get advice, he finds himself caught up in an extortion scheme, which stresses their relationship even further. When Lena goes to Hawaii on business, Barry must decide how far he will go to win her heart.
