Taking place in 80,000 BC, a group of cavemen must go out on a journey to find a new flame for their tribe. Naoh (Everett McGill), Amoukar (Ron Perlman) and Gaw (Nameer El-Kadi) are sent by elders of their tribe to carry a flame back safely. Many dangers face them along their path, including saber-tooth tigers and wooly mammoths. When they wind up head to head with a neighboring Neanderthal tribe, they are captured and meet a young woman, Ika (Rae Dawn Chong). Ika is a fellow prisoner and can help the men escape. Even then, where can they hope to find a flame in the frosted death of the wintry Ice Age? They must gather their courage and wits if they are to obtain their new flame.
