Racing Daylight combines three stories into one tale of love, mystery and ghosts from the past. This is the first film for director Nicole Quinn, shot in New York's picturesque Hudson River Valley. Racing Daylight opens with the librarian Sadie Stokes (Melissa Leo) returning to her family farm, owned by the Stoke family for centuries, to care for her aging grandmother (Leclanche Durand). Sadie begins to come to terms with the fact that she will probably live the rest of her life on the farm, when a mysterious ghost named Harry (David Strathairn) appears and calls her Anna. Sadie learns that Harry was secretly murdered years before and was also the love of her ancestor, Anna Stokes. Slowly, Sadie begins to talk and act like Anna. She soon meets handyman Henry (Strathairn), who looks exactly like the ghost haunting her. Henry and Sadie become friends, and both set out to get some answers about Harry's death. Their search takes audiences to a flashback of the Civil War, where viewers learn exactly how Harry died. Sadie starts to fall for Henry, who now needs to save her before she completely transforms into Anna's ghost.moreless
