Randy Travis Live: It was Just a Matter of Time is a live concert performed and recorded in December 2000. The concert film opens with a brief interview in which Travis describes his songwriting process and his perception of the concert and audience. During the concert Travis sings over twenty-five years' worth of gospel-country hits including the concert's namesake song, "It Was Just a Matter of Time". Between songs he openly shares anecdotes and jokes with the audience. He also gives due credit to his backing band: On bass is Paul Fulbright, Kirk Shuker plays drums, Steve Hinson plays steel guitar, Rick Wayne Halls plays lead guitar and David Johnson plays fiddle. As the concert goes on, the devoted audience sings along and even gets up to dance. The mutual appreciation between Randy Travis and his audience is clear as he grins broadly throughout every song and signs autographs from stage during the encore. Travis and his band sing a broad range of his songs, so that fans of his country music as well as his gospel songs can enjoy the concert.moreless
