Rat Race is a 2001 ensemble madcap comedy directed by Jerry Zucker. The cast has many comedians including Rowan Atkinson, Kathy Bates, Lanei Chapman, John Cleese, Whoopi Goldberg, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Seth Green, Kathy Najimy, Dave Thomas, and Vince Vieluf. Donald Sinclair (John Cleese) is the eccentric owner of the biggest and most luxurious casino in Las Vegas. Many of his clients are wealthy high rollers. In order to entertain his wealthiest patrons, Donald has devised the greatest high stakes game that Vegas has seen. Six teams are assembled. Each team has been randomly chosen, because they won one of six special tokens that were placed in the casino's slot machines. Unknowing to the contestants, the high rollers each have a stake in who wins. The teams are told that the prize is two million dollars that they will find hidden in a duffel bag in a train station locker in Silver City, New Mexico. The only rule is to be the first one there to claim the money. The racers take off, each hoping to win.
