RAVE'n is a drama, which won the Newark Pail Robeson International Film Festival. Originally a rock opera, RAVE'n was made into a musical-movie in 2002. The indie film was directed by Kenneth Waddell and produced by the Punk and Gorg Entertainment company. It examines the day-to-day life of Rave'n (Frank Palmer), a singer-songwriter, who is struggling for survival and often strung out. The film highlights Rave'n's drug use and artistry through a combination of musical numbers and scenes of dialogue-centered drama. Throughout the movie, Rave'n a rock artist who never makes it big, performs songs that he has written that tell the truth, as he sees it, of his twisted and painful life. The film was shot in New Jersy and New York over the course of three months, between September and November of 2000 and also starred Faina Vitebsky, Ivan Rodriguez and Joe Vitello.
