Ray Davies: The World From My Window is a documentary film about Ray Davies, the world-famous singer/songwriter for the British rock band The Kinks. Davies' career spans over 40 years, and in this film he speaks honestly about his life, his experience with The Kinks, and what has inspired his music during his career. In addition to personal recollections about his family and music, the film features extensive footage from The Kinks' live concerts, showing a versatile Davies and his band singing some of the songs for which they are famous, including "You Really Got Me Going" and "Lola." In between these sets the film interviews world-famous musicians including stars David Bowie and Elvis Costello, who confirm Davies' importance to their work and his status as a rock legend. The film brings these elements together for an honest and fun presentation of Ray Davies, both as a man and a rock and roll superstar.
