2000
Rating:
PG-13

Ready to Rumble is a comedy telling the vicissitudes of Gordie Boggs (David Arquette) and Sean Dawkins (Scott Caan), friends and wrestling fans, devastated by seeing their favorite champion Jimmy King (Oliver Platt) defeated in the fight for the title by a gang of crooks. The injustice suffered by their favorite champion leads the couple to reach and try to revive the wrestler and to take him back in the ring. However, the champion shows a very ordinary personality, far from being the one of a champion. Gordie and Dawkins face a long series of misadventures, made ''''''of hilarious misunderstandings, meetings with the darkest people in the world of wrestling, comic sketches and unlikely situations. Directed by Brian Robbins, Ready to Rumble features all the most stereotypical characters of the world of wrestling: the fallen champion, fans going completely nuts and gangs of crooks always plotting to get some fast and easy money.
