Real Thing is a 1995 crime drama that explores how far one brother is willing to go to save the life of his younger brother. Rupert Little (James Russo) is a small time crook who runs small scams and has a great personality. When his little brother, James Little (Dave Buzzota), gets sick and needs a new liver, Rupert decides he must save him. With no money to help finance the organ transplant, Rupert rounds up his old gang and they plan a heist that will net them enough money to pay for the surgery. The intended target of the robbery is a fancy nightclub. The gang of hooligans plan to carry out the robbery on New Year's Eve. The criminals think the plan is perfect. However, their master plan begins to break up when a rival gang of criminals has planned the same heist for the same day. Real Thing was directed by James Merendino.
