Red Doors, an American drama released in 2005, features the lives and troubles of the Wong family, a dysfunctional Chinese-American family from New York. After retiring, Ed Wong (Tzi Ma) decides to move away from his boring life in search of something more, until his plans are changed by the actions of his daughters. Samantha (Jacqueline Kim), the eldest, leads the straight and narrow life of an engaged businesswoman until a chance meeting with an old flame forces her to reconsider her life. Julie (Elaine Kao), the middle child, is usually the reserved, shy one until she meets and falls for a lesbian movie star while in her fourth year of medical school. Katie (Kathy Shao-Lin Lee) is the youngest and is involved in an increasingly more dangerous prank war with their longtime neighbor. While all the members of the Wong family have their own personal problems, they must learn how to come back together as a family to work through them.moreless
