The Red Earth Festival has become the largest and most highly recognized Native American visual and performing arts event of its type in the world. Red Earth Festival features the finest dancers and artists from Oklahoma's 39 tribes, as well as tribes from Canada and all of North America. The dance competition presents over one thousand dancers competing for first place. A narrative of the historical background and meaning of the dances is included. The juried art competition awards prize money in several categories, including basketry, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, photography and painting. First place winners are interviewed and their work is showcased. Red Earth Festival is held annually in Oklahoma City on the first weekend in June. Come and join us for Oklahoma's Centennial edition of the Red Earth Festival 2007.
