Red Siren is a 2002 French film directed by Olivier Megaton and starring Jean-Marc Barr and Asia Argento. Twelve-year-old Alice (Alexandra Negrao) confesses to police detective Anita (Argento) that her mother Eva (Frances Barber) is in fact the leader of a powerful crime syndicate and a murderer. When Eva discovers that Alice has betrayed her, she attempts to kill her, but Alice slips away to Portugal to reunite with her father, who has been missing for a number of years. While Eva is on the lam she meets a mercenary named Hugo (Barr) who vows to protect her on her journey. Unbeknownst to Alice, Hugo is a cold-blooded killer who has turned a new leaf by choosing to protect her. When Eva and her henchmen discover where Alice is headed, she tries to bring Alice close to her by showing her a mother's love. Red Siren was poorly received by critics.
