Redbelt is a 2008 drama that was written and directed by acclaimed playwright David Mamet. The movie is set on the west side of Los Angeles and focuses on the fight world and, specifically, mixed martial arts competitions. The main character in Redbelt is Mike Terry (Chiwetel Ejiofor). Mike is a renowned Jiu-jitsu master who has rejected the world of high-stakes prize fighting and instead lives a life of education and honor. Terry and his wife Sondra (Alice Braga) are struggling to keep his Jiu-jitsu self-defense studio open and are having a difficult time making enough money to survive. A series of amazing events leads Terry into the world of movies, where he works as a fight choreographer for big time action star Chet Frank (Tim Allen). Eventually, in order to save his life and protect his honor, Terry must step into the ring for the first time in his life. Redbelt co-stars Emily Mortimer, Joe Mantegna, Ricky Jay and Randy Couture.moreless
