Redemption: Kickboxer 5 is the fifth and final film in the action adventure 'Kickboxer' series. It came out in 1995 and was directed by Kristine Peterson. Retired kickboxer Matt Reeves (played by Mark Dacascos) witnesses the murder of his friend and protege Johnny, a promising young fighter. Johnny gets murdered by Negaal (James Ryan), a South African millionaire who's mad at Johnny for having refused to join his underground kick boxing federation. Matt vows to avenge Johnny's death. Hearing of this Negaal sends his enforcer Paul Craft (Geoff Meed) out to hunt down and kill Matt. However Paul teams up with Matt for revenge against Negaal. This sequel is almost universally disliked and is considered a poor way to have ended the Kick Boxer series.
