Reefer Madness is a classic 1939 propaganda film highlighting the evils of marijuana. Mae Coleman (Thelma White) and Jack Perry (Carleton Young) are cannabis dealers. They are assisted in their endeavors by ex-college student Ralph Wiley (Dave O'Brien) and the mildly slutty Blanche (Lilian Miles). When young students Bill Harper (Kenneth Craig) and Jimmy Lane (Warren McCollum) show up at a party given by Mae and Jack, things get out of hand pretty quickly. Jimmy ends up killing a pedestrian in a hit and run and Bill ends up having an affair with Blanche. Before long, Bill ends up hallucinating that his girlfriend Mary (Dorothy Short) is stripping for Ralph. One thing leads to another and Mary is accidentally shot and killed. Naturally, Ralph begins to loose his mind. To calm him down, Blanche maniacally begins playing the piano before meeting a tragic end. As the story fades to close, the audience is warned that the next victim may be their own children.moreless
