Reflections on Psalm 23 for People with Cancer is based on the true story of Ken Curtis, the founder of Gateway Films/Vision. Curtis is suddenly forced to confront his own mortality when he receives news that he has an advanced form of cancer and may not have long to live. In his struggle to deal with the disease, he seeks out healing for both his body and soul and turns to the 23rd Psalm of the Bible for spiritual direction. Many people know this Psalm for the well-known line, "even though I travel through the valley of the shadow of death." Curtis explores the entire scripture as it relates to his battle with cancer and eventually even travels to Israel as he searches for its deeper meaning. The film portrays this touching spiritual journey in 13 eight-minute segments, each one a meditation on the 23rd Psalm and how it has helped Ken Curtis in his struggle.
