Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins is a 1985 action-adventure film based on the series of pulp paperbacks called The Destroyer by Richard Sapir and Warren Murphy. Vietnam Vet and New York City cop Sam Makin (Fred Ward) is tricked into being an assassin for a covert United States operation code-named CURE. Sam's death is faked, his appearance is altered, and he is renamed Remo Wailliams. He is trained in Korean Sinanju martial arts by Chiun (Joel Grey) and becomes an unstoppable killing force with the ability to dodge bullets and run across water. Also featuring Anthony Hopkins, Reginald VelJohnson, and Wilfred Brimley, "there is an eleventh commandment: "Thou shalt not get away with it." This commandment has a name: Remo Williams."
