Renart the Fox tells the medieval tale which takes place in a time and place where animals make fun of humans by simply acting like humans do. They also act like humans by giving each other a hard time. Ysengrin the wolf (voiced by Marc Bretonniere) is the butt of many of Renart the Fox (voiced by Frederic Diefenthal) and Rufus' (voiced by Lorant Deutsch) jokes. However, the only reason that Renart does anything wrong is because he feels that it is the only way that he can fully provide for his family. The film follows Renart and Rufus as they travel from tasks as simple as giving Ysengrin a hard time to trying to squash a plot that has been in the works for a while to render the king powerless. This ninety minute animation film is completely in French and was released in 2005. Thierry Schiel directed the film, which was written by Erika Strobel.
