Resident Evil: Extinction, the third film in the popular Resident Evil series, is a 2007 action/horror film directed by Russell Mulcahy. It is based on a popular video game by Capcom. After Umbrella Corporation's T-virus turns most humans into bloodthirsty zombies and destroys the world's environment, Alice (Milla Jovovich) travels aimlessly through America's wastelands. She has been infected by the virus, but her cells bonded with it in an unusual way, providing her with superhuman fighting skills and psychic powers. Alice teams up with a ragtag group of Raccoon City survivors led by Claire Redfield (Ali Larter), who has heard that there is a safe haven somewhere in Alaska for people who are not infected by the virus. While trying to make their way through the Nevada desert to get to the utopia, the group must fight off attacks by terrifying zombies and the evil Umbrella Corporation, which is tirelessly hunting for Alice.
