Return of the Killer Tomatoes is the first sequel to the surprise cult hit Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. Written and directed by John De Bello and starring George Clooney in one of his earliest film roles, the movie tells the story of evil, sentient tomatoes once again terrorizing humanity. Set 25 years after the events depicted in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, the evil Professor Mortimer Gangreen (John Astin) has invented a tomato transformation chamber which is able to transform tomatoes into humans. Prof. Gangreen plans to use his chamber to create an army of genetically enhanced tomato fighters. With the power of his army, the Professor dreams of conquering the world. It is up to down-on-his luck pizza maker Chad Finletter (Anthony Starke), his best friend Matt Stevens (George Clooney), and the love of Chad's life, the beautiful female tomato Tara Boumdeay (Karen Mistal), to foil the crazy Professor's plans. The events in this film were used as the basis for the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes animated television show.moreless
