Reviving Ophelia is Lifetime's TV movie inspired by Dr. Mary Pipher's best-selling book, Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls. Reviving Ophelia follows to mothers' stories as they take on the difficult task of raising teenage daughters. Marie and Le Ann are sisters who have always leaned on each other throughout their lives, and are discovering together how difficult it is to bring up a teen daughter. Le Ann's daughter Kelli is feeling pressure from boys, friends and school, and Le Ann has trouble raising the 16 year old alone as a single parent. Marie's daughter Marie is 17 years old and seemingly perfect, with a steady boyfriend who seems like a perfect match. Things aren't always what they seem, and Kelli thinks that Elizabeth's relationship isn't as healthy as it looks. She suspects that her boyfriend is abusing her, but not even Elizabeth will believe her. When Elizabeth ends up in the hospital, Kelli has to try to help Marie reason with Elizabeth before it is too late.moreless
