Richard Pryor: Live and Smokin' is legendary American stand-up comedian Richard Pryor's first live show to be filmed. Although the set was actually filmed in 1971, it wasn't released for the public until 1985. Richard Pryor is notable for his keen sense of humor surrounding topics in racism and social issues. He is regarded by many professionals in the industry, including Jerry Seinfeld and Bob Newhart, as one of the most influential comedians to hit the stage in the 1980s. Live and Smokin' was filmed before Richard became a mainstream funnyman. After Live and Smokin' proved to be successful, three more films were made. Live and Smokin' features a piquant Richard in his early days as he targets his audience and mocks racial relationships and family issues. The film even includes one of his first stints, a rap session involving "Wino the Preacher" and "Willie the Junkie". Richard Pryor is sure to make you laugh, make sure you don't miss out!moreless
