Ride in the Whirlwind is a western directed by Monte Hellman. Vern (Cameron Mitchell), Wes (Jack Nicholson) and Otis (Tom Filer) are wandering cowboys who decide to go to Waco, Texas. As they are traveling, they come across an isolated, ramshackle cabin inhabited by a man named Blind Dick (Dean Stanton) and his gang. When Bind Dick gives the men food and invites them to spend the night, they readily accept his offer. However, the cowboys soon realize that Blind Dick and his friends are actually outlaws who committed horrible crimes and are on the run from police. When vigilantes with guns arrive at the shack to kill the criminals, they assume that Vern, Wes, and Otis are part of the outlaw gang. As the cowboys find themselves stuck in the middle of the fight, they struggle to find a way to escape from the vigilantes and to avoid being hanged.
