Riders of the Range, a 1950 Western directed by Lesley Selander, is an hour that is packed with action, romance, and adventure. The lovely Priscilla "Dusty" Willis (Jacqueline White) is about to receive a beating from Clint Burrows (Reed Hadley), a saloon owner, when she is saved by Kansas Jones (Tim Holt) and Chito Jose Gonzalez Bustamente Rafferty (Richard Martin), two cowboys. To show her gratitude, Dusty offers the unemployed Kansas and Chito jobs on her ranch. Dusty's brother Harry Willis (Robert Clarke) owes her thousands in gambling debts, and while he isn't quite a villain, he doesn't have much of a spine. Harry lets the wild Ringo Kid (Tom Tyler) filch cows from Dusty's ranch, in return for helping pay off his debts. Kansas and Chito discover these secret dealings. When they try to help, however, they find themselves mired in Harry's troubles with the law, and blamed for crimes they did not commit. It is up to Dusty to prove that the cowboys are innocent.moreless
