Robots is an animated robotic comedy film directed by Chris Wedge and Carlos Saldanha for 20th Century Fox that follows Rodney Copperbottom (Ewan McGregor), an idealistic inventor who decides to help his family in Rivet Town by heading out to ask Bigweld (Mel Brooks), the greatest inventor and owner of Bigweld Industries, for a job. When Rodney discovers that Bigweld has disappeared and the slimy Phineas T. Ratchet (Greg Kinnear) has taken over with the goal to get rid of the older model robots in society, Rodney take refuge with the misfits of Aunt Fanny's (Jennifer Coolidge) boarding house with the likes of dilapidated Fender (Robin Williams) and Fender's little sister Piper (Amanda Bynes). Rodney and his new friends team up with a beautiful upgraded robot-executive Cappy (Halle Berry) in order to stop Ratchet from sending a lot of robots to the Chop Shop and to free Bigweld from his prison.
