Movie Summary

Stephen Herek

Like countless people, Chris Cole believes that he could really make it as a rock star. Instead of focusing on more practical ambitions, Chris channels all his energy into his obsession, even if it means that he has to work as a copy machine repairman and cannot afford his own apartment. Chris does not care as long as he can live out his fantasies on the stage each night, playing the infamous Bobby Beers in a Steel Dragons tribute band. Chris's adoring girlfriend, Emily, thinks that Chris is even better than the real Beers, but it seems as if nobody else agrees. One day, however, the phone rings and everything changes. It turns out that, unknown to him, Chris has been catching some very important attention. Finally, he has a shot at becoming a genuine heavy metal star. As Chris and Emily try to adjust to the rock star lifestyle, they find that fame has its dark side as well.
