Rocketman is a 1997 comedy, directed by Craig Mazin, about a clumsy astronaut who manages to take part in the world's first manned mission to Mars. Fred Randall (Harland Williams) is known as one of the smartest men in his unit due to his expertise with technology, however he seems to have a problem with getting himself into hilarious situations by accident. An injury to a team member soon forces NASA to make a decision on who should be the replacement on its mission to Mars and Randall is selected due to his navigational know-how. What his fellow team members, including a strict captain William Overbeck (William Sadler) and the serious mission specialist Julie Ford (Jessica Lundy), don't know is that Randall's antics have the possibility of putting the mission in danger completely. As the mission moves along, Randall's expertise and demeanor slowly win over his team when as the crew hits a crucial point in flight.
