Rodeo King and the Senorita is a black and white B-Western from 1951 that follows the story of the singing cowboy, Rex Allen, playing himself, as he attempts to replace rodeo star Pablo Morales (Buff Brady) after his accidental death. The remaining owner of the rodeo, Jack Foster (Tristam Coffin), is forced to take on a new, silent partner to keep the rodeo afloat. The new partner is Steve Lacey (Roy Barcroft) who does not want Allen or anyone else to have any part of his rodeo. Lacey attempts to kill Allen in a staged rodeo "accident." Although Allen survives, his horse Koko is severely injured. A young girl, Juanita Morales (Bonnie DeSimone), and her governess, Janet Wells (Mary Ellen Kay), nurse the horse back to health while Allen realizes Lacey may have killed Morales. Together, the three of them work to stop Lacey and keep the rodeo in safe hands.
