Rollover was produced by IPC Films and was directed by Alan J. Pakula. In this politcal thriller, former film star, Lee Winters (Jane Fonda) has recently been widowed after the brutal murder of her husband. She inherits her husband's multimillion-dollar chemical company that is trying to expand into Spain by purchasing a processing plant. Hubbell Smith (Kris Kristofferson), a respected financier, is taking over as the president of the Borough National Bank at the request of Maxwell Emery (Hume Cronyn), the chairman of First New York Bank. Hubbell discovers that the bank is insolvent and needs a customer that could generate revenue. Lee and Hubbell team up with the goal of getting the financing she needs and the answers to her husband's murder. Hubbell would like to broker the deal in order to generate revenue. Lee and Hubbell become romantically involved as they uncover political and financial plots aimed at shattering the world's economy.
