Rookie of the Year is a comedy film that revolves around 12-year-old Little League player Henrey Rowengarter (Thomas Ian Nicholas). One day when Henry is playing baseball, he breaks his arm while trying to catch a fly ball. The doctor wraps his arm in a cast and once it heals, Henry's arm suddenly has great force. To reward Henry for his cast coming off, his mother, Mary (Amy Morton) rewards him with tickets to a Chicago Cubs game. At the game, Henry catches a home run ball hit by the visiting team and throws the ball back to the field. The ball goes all the way to the catcher, an astonishing 435 feet, amazing everyone in the crowd. He catches the attention of the Cubs management team and they sign Henry, making him the youngest MLB player ever. At first, Henry does not pitch well, but he does get better in each game he pitches. Can he keep up with what being in the big league entails though? Watch Rookie of the Year to find out.
