Roots of Evil is a 1992 film that blends crime, drama and eroticism. Jake (Alex Cord) is a no-nonsense police officer called in to investigate a string of strange and disturbing murders taking place in the underbelly of glamorous Hollywood, California. All of the victims are high-profile Hollywood prostitutes and strippers, found mutilated. Jake and his partner, Brenda (Jillian Kesner), vow to put an end to the gruesome murders. As Jake stalks down the evasive killer, he finds himself involved with many of the beautiful women who are fighting for their lives and livelihoods, including Monica (Delia Sheppard) and Marissa (Deanna Lund). As the killer continues to terrorize the streets, Jake and the women realize the true danger of the situation. They encounter lethal traps and drive-by shootings, and as the clues grow more confusing and the killer continues to walk free, Jake begins to wonder if the streets will ever be safe again.
