Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead is a 2009 independent horror/comedy film directed by Jordan Galland. The film's title is in reference to the 1966 play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. After his father (Chip Zien) chastises him for not working, Julian Marsh (Jake Hoffman), a narcissistic, spoiled playboy, takes on the job of directing a strange play called Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead. It is a weird adaptation of scenes from Shakespeare's Hamlet that involves vampires fighting over ownership to the Holy Grail. Unbeknownst to Julian, the play was written by an actual Romanian vampire named Theo Horace (John Ventimiglia), and the play's plot may be truer than it seems. Julian soon becomes ensnared in a struggle between the undead that is centuries old. As the body count rises, Julian and two goofy detectives (Jeremy Sisto and Lou Carbonneau) must race to defeat the vampires. This low budget flick does not take itself seriously and provides plenty of laugh-out-loud, campy fun.moreless
