Rowing Through is the emotional tale of Tiff Wood (Colin Ferguson), a professional rower and Harvard graduate. He fervently trains for his chance to take home the gold medal at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow, Russia. However, due to a US boycott, he is prevented from competing. Still determined to make his dream a reality, he never abandons the sport, hoping to have a chance to compete in the next Olympics. During this period he struggles to balance his work and personal relationships, all the while exercising to be in the best possible shape for his only shot at the gold. Tiff must also learn to cooperate and refine his rowing techniques with new partners to achieve the best possible speeds. Although he was not able to compete in the Moscow Olympics, his team still raced the Soviets in a display of sportsmanship and love for rowing.
