Rudy (Sean Astin) must first decide to either join the family business as a metal worker or make a serious attempt to gain entry into the University of Notre Dame. With no support from his family and fresh of the rejection from the girl he has always loved, Rudy decides to act on his childhood dream. Now in South Bend, Indiana, Rudy now has a job as the Notre Dame field keeper's assistant, a tutor (Jon Favreu), and all the motivation in the world. All Rudy wants to do is suit up, walk out of the tunnel to thousands of screaming fans, and play in one game. Rudy is determined to a fault to make it all happen.
